Happy New Year!!
2020 was definitely a strange year for everyone so we are starting the year with positivity and being proactive in blogging again!
Last year was actually a really busy year despite the pandemic throwing a spanner in the works for part of it. We are hoping we are blessed with the same opportunities in 2021. In many ways the pandemic actually created work opportunities for us with so much outdoor work been taken on.
Summer time saw us installing outdoor sockets, outdoor and garden lighting with people generally gravitating outdoors our customers were wanting power to garages and outbuildings so they could get som use out of them. We also had the chance to install a couple of hot tubs while the weather was good in the summer too!
We’ve had the opportunity to work with a company who design and install beautiful garden rooms that are built to last like in the featured image above. Each garden room we’ve worked on has had a different purpose or use so are all bespoke in their design. Naturally each one has power run into them for sockets and lighting, which is great for G R Electrical Services in that we can contribute and be involved in such an innovative build.
Up to now we’ve worked on garden rooms that have been used for an outdoor bar, an artist studio, a sewing worksop, an outdoor family room and an outdoor office. For anyone who is thinking about constructing a garden room we can highly recommend Aspen Lodges Ltd located in Wickersley.
The careful planning that goes into these buildings is unreal with a huge emphasis being put on quality of materials. These buildings are insulated to retain as much heat as possible but are also fully ventilated to eliminate the possibility of future damp build up, a huge factor which is overlooked by some garden rooms we have worked on built by other builders.
November saw us complete back to back full re-wires in Wickersley, Moorgate and Crookes in Sheffield during the 2nd lockdown! Luckily our customers allowed us to work while they were out of the house and we put measures in place to keep all staff and customers safe. It was nice to get our electricians working on local projects.
We are lucky that we work closely with other tradesmen that have passed over work in the last few months too. We have been involved in some large building projects this year including 2 loft conversions and several house extensions with new kitchens and bathrooms in them. Generally these include new a Fuse board in each, full kitchen rewire including lighting circuit and power for ovens / induction hobs etc.
All in all it’s been a successful 2020 and we are looking forward to getting stuck in to 2021!!
