Connelly Group Holdings IDES Acquisition

We are delighted to announce that Connelly Group Holdings have acquired the entire business interests of Edinburgh based Intruder Detection & Electrical Services (IDES).

This business was established some 38 years ago by its owners Alan Duffy and Neil McCarry (pictured with Connelly Group Holdings Managing Director Paul Connelly) who are business associates of our Managing Director Paul Connelly. Father Time waits for know one and the partners needed to establish a succession plan for their customers in the years ahead, both are now in their sixties. IDES are market leaders in the fields of expertise they operate in the smart home Internet of Things (IOT) arena. This is an area where Connelly Group Holdings is keen to grow this offer across an ever expanding client base now approaching 40,000 managed client accounts across Central Scotland.

Presence in Stirling, Whitburn, Glasgow and Ayr

IDES is also an electrical contractor as well as providing electronic security and fire systems. The IDES service support centre will remain located in Edinburgh and be a conduit to the other Connelly Group Holdings business hubs in Stirling, Whitburn, Glasgow and Ayr.

All of the IDES staff and engineering support personnel will continue to be employed and expanded in number due to an increasing demand for quality service support.

Alan and Neil will also continue to be involved in the businesses development on a part time basis over the next couple of years. This latest acquisition over the past few years to five in number were all based on the owners succession planning where they identified Connelly Group Holdings best placed to look after the interests of long established customers expectations in maintaining good relationships within a family business culture that was established by Paul Connelly and his brothers over thirty five years ago.
